Taylor University Launches New Website

Upland, Ind. -
Taylor University online communication and technology administrators launched a new University website over the weekend. The launch of the new site, www.taylor.edu , caps an 18-month process of research, consulting, content development and technology upgrades.

Indianapolis, IN, based Brainstorm created the architecture, interface, and design of the site using branding concepts based upon an existing direction. According to Evan Kittleman, director of online communications at Taylor, Brainstorm was chosen over three other firms. “We selected Brainstorm because they were local and had many satisfied clients among the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. We were excited with their creativity and vision.”

The project team, led by Rod Eib, director of applications and integration services, and Kittleman, launched the new site on Friday, utilizing a new suite of content management tools. According to Eib, "The team worked hard to implement new tools which allow us to better manage the website and more quickly change its content and appearance, both extremely important for competing in a dynamic, Internet environment."

The new site features updated navigation, the University's new marketing colors, and a stronger emphasis on meeting the needs of prospective students. Also included are student Web logs ("blogs" or online journals), streaming video of chapel services, and a soon to be launched virtual tour. “The new site is more vibrant and better reflects the academic atmosphere and community life at Taylor,” said Kittleman.

“Our Web administration team has met the challenge in a way that not only brings new energy to the Taylor mission and message, but glorifies our Lord,” said Taylor president Dr. David J. Gyertson. “As I paged through the various sections, our Upland distinctives as a Christ-centered learning, living and serving covenant community are clear and compelling. This excellent work, blessed by the Lord, will yield significant benefits for Taylor Upland's informing and transforming work. To say that I am pleased, yes even ecstatic, with the new website would be an understatement.”
